About Us
QuickSilver Dragon started in 1998 as Lakota Creations, a one-woman beaded jewelry company. While the original Lakota Creations website still exists, the
company's focus has shifted dramatically over the years. We now offer an extensive line of metaphysical goods, including incense, herbs, oils and runestones, a line of Pagan themed greeting cards, printing services,
other printed goods and web hosting services.
Most of our business is through print-on-demand dye sublimation products and heat transfer products such as ceramic tiles and mugs, tote bags, and t-shirts.
There are many products we can make, and our product lines are constantly expanding. This is where our artists come in. We're looking for new artwork to
put on our products and greeting cards.

Marketing
Currently, we have an opt-in mailing list with over 150 Pagan and New Age retail companies. We have a large number of current wholesale customers,
with more every month. Most months, we send e-mails to these customers and leads, letting them know about new products as they are added, and about any specials
that we are running. These wholesale customers can order directly from our website, wholesale.quicksilverdragon.com and/or paganwholesale.com, or they can phone or fax in orders.
In the next year, we plan on offering a printed catalog in addition to our websites. Catalogs will be sent to current customers for free; those who haven't ordered can request a one year subscription for $25, which will include two $15 off coupons. We will send regular updates to everyone who has our catalog.
Our retail site, mysticintentions.com, is up and running with our entire catalog of items at retail prices. A mailing list has also been setup. By the end of the year we will be placing ads in numerous smaller
Pagan publications, for both our wholesale and retail sites.
In the near future, we hope to exhibit at the INATS West (International New Age Trade Show), in Denver, Colorado. INATS is a twice yearly show (the "East" show is in January in Florida) that caters to retail shops who carry Pagan, New Age, and Metaphysical items.
While we focus mainly on the Pagan, New Age, and fantasy market, we also have plans to market to more mainstream retailers.
It is our hope that this marketing campaign, along with any promotion that the artists who work with us complete on their own, will bring our company wide
recognition for the many quality products we produce, and will bring name-recognition to our artists. Furthermore, we know that this campaign will
provide many new sales opportunities, which help all of us.
We anticipate that artists may wish to do their own marketing in addition to any marketing we do. While we are not yet sure how to best support this marketing, we do plan to do so, and are open to suggestions from our artists. We plan to provide a support system for our artists, so that as new ideas are presented to help all our artists market themselves and our company they will be passed along to everyone, so that we can all benefit from each other's efforts.

What we're looking for
We're looking for quality artists with Pagan, new age or fantasy themed art. If you make any other kind of product (jewelry, etc.) we are, of course,
interested in seeing it and possibly adding it to our inventory, but what we're really looking for is art that can be used on our products. This could take the
form of paintings, computer art, charcoal drawings, photography, or anything else that a quality scan can be made of. If you're not sure whether your art
fits into the description of what we're looking for, please contact us anyway. We can evaluate it and tell you whether or not it will work for us.
We will need digital files for production - we prefer images to be at least 300 DPI, but a little lower may be fine. We can, of course, help in advising you on how to get quality scans of your artwork. We also require that the file names for your artwork be the same as the title of the artwork, to help make it easier for us to keep track of everything and keep everything organized.

Jury Process
Our jury process for selecting art is quite simple. We ask that you send us samples (digital, print, or otherwise) of each piece of art that you are interested in licensing to us, and each piece will be individually
considered. Its quality and marketability will be evaluated, and compared with our current product line, and we will promptly get back to you as to whether or not we think the art would work well with our current product line. We will not use any of the samples sent
to us for any sales or marketing until we have a signed contract that has been agreed upon by both parties. If you're unsure whether or not your art is what we're looking for, please send us some samples anyway! It can't hurt anything, and we always love to see new work and provide feedback on its marketability.

Sample Policy
Each approved artist working with us is eligible for one free ceramic tile of his or her art. We also offer one sample per piece of art at 50% off of our wholesale prices.

Compensation
First of all, we want all of our artists to understand that you will still own all rights to your art. Some companies demand exclusive rights to images
when arranging licensing agreements, but we do not agree with that philosophy. We understand that this is your art and your work, and we only ask for the
rights to use it. What you do with it beyond that is up to you -- in fact, we encourage you to promote and advertise yourself however you see fit. In addition, in the event that we need to make any changes to your art other than just size or orientation, we will contact you first for permission. Each artist will also be credited for their work whenever possible.
Our standard commission rates are 10% for wholesale orders, and 20% on retail ones. This may not seem like a lot, but it is well above many standard licensing
rates. These same royalties extend to all sales, both within the United States and outside of it. We are also willing to discuss additional compensation plans for
artists who are willing to put more effort and involvement into advertising and raising sales.
Payments are sent out once a month, provided that your products have earned a minimum of $20 in commission for the previous month. For example: If your
products earn you $30 in commissions during the month of January, we will send a report out to you by February 15th to keep you informed of your sales and earned commission, and a $30 check for your commissions will go out by the end of February. If your products do not earn the $20 minimum, payment will be held until it does.
Artists may also purchase their items at our wholesale prices less their commission, and sell them as they wish on their own. Earned commission can be
used as "company credit" and applied toward any wholesale items purchased if you wish.
If you're not interested in working in this framework, but are interested in our printing or other services, please contact us for further information.
If this sounds like something you may be interested in, please contact us and we will provide more information on how to submit artwork.
